The Whistleblower on tuore ja säväyttävä rock-yhtye Helsingistä. Bändin soundin ytimessä on amerikkalaistyylinen kevyt-rock, jonka vaikuttimina toimivat mm. heartland rock, blues, soul, R&B, folkrock ja americana.
Kokeneista helsinkiläisistä muusikoista koostuva yhtye on jo muutaman keikan jälkeen onnistunut vakuuttamaan kuulijansa ja kasvattamaan fanikantaa niin Suomessa kuin ulkomaillakin. Bändin laulaja/lauluntekijän Anthony Dawoudin luomat kappaleet sisältävät elämänmakuisia kasvutarinoita, rakkautta, ironiaa, toivoa ja hieman politiikkaakin. Teokset kuitenkin heräsivät eloon ja saavuttivat huippunsa vasta koko bändin ottaessa kappaleet käsittelyynsä vuoden 2023 keväällä.
Pääkaupunkiseudun eri yhtyeissä jo vuosia vaikuttaneet Tuukka Hanhiniemi, Ville Vainio, Ben Ferreira ja Joona Korpi muodostivat yhtyeen rytmisektion jonka seurauksena singer/songwriter -henkiset kappaleet muovattiin toimimaan dynaamisemmin bändin soittamana live-setissä, luoden yleisöille keikkakokemuksen, jossa eri tyylilajit leikittelevät vangitsevasti teoksien tarinallisuuden kanssa.

The Whistleblower is a fresh and striking rock band from Helsinki. At the core of the band’s sound is American-style light rock, influenced by heartland rock, blues, soul, R&B, folk rock, and Americana.
Composed of experienced musicians from Helsinki, the band has managed to impress its audience and grow a fan base both in Finland and abroad after just a few gigs. The songs created by the band’s singer/songwriter, Anthony Dawoud, include life-like coming-of-age stories, love, irony, hope, and a touch of politics. However, Anthony’s works truly came to life and reached their peak when the entire band started working on them in the spring of 2023.
Tuukka Hanhiniemi, Ville Vainio, Ben Ferreira, and Joona Korpi, who have been active in various bands in the Helsinki metropolitan area for years, formed the band’s rhythm section. This resulted in the singer/songwriter-style songs being dynamically transformed into a live set played by the band, creating a concert experience where different genres play captivatingly with the narratives of the works.
